ICCR scholarship Complete Guide

ICCR scholarship is a fully funded scholarship by Government of India for pursuing studies in UG/PG/PhD courses. Scholarship coverage includes free tuition, stipend and air ticket. Applicants must be between the age of 18-30 years.

Indian Council For Cultural Relations Scholarship Portal(A2A)

Indian Council for Cultural Relations administers various scholarship programs annually and awards about 3000+ scholarships under 21 different schemes to foreign students from about 180 countries. The courses offered for studies are for Under-graduation, Post-graduation and Ph.D. levels. Each academic year, ICCR has about 6000+ of its foreign scholars who are studying at various Central/State Universities, Institutes, NITs, and Agricultural Institutions etc.

Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Cote d’lvore, Djibouti, DRC Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Sudan, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

  • To ascertain English proficiency of the applicants, 500-word essay in English has been introduced.
  • The Applicants are advised to visit respective University/institute website regularly for courses offered, eligibly criteria and general information about the University/institute before applying for admission.
  • Detailed guidelines on the process for applying for ICCR scholarship are available on the A2A portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/
  • Applicants must be between the age of 18-30 years.
  • Interested students may apply online though ICCR’s A2A scholarship online portal

Important Dates

  • The Application opening usually starts from February.
  • The Application deadline – April/May

Scholarship admission process

  1. Students apply for the scholarship through the ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal.
  2. The Regional Offices (ROs) review the applications and select the eligible students.
  3. The Mission sends the list of selected students to the Headquarters (HQ).
  4. The HQ confirms the selection of students and allocates them a scholarship and a university.
  5. The Mission informs the universities that are not selected.
  6. The selected students provide their travel details to the Mission.
  7. The Mission applies for a visa for the students.
  8. The students accept the scholarship offer and receive the offer letter from the RO.
